Case 007   funnel  /  found in the script

The question that was emptying the calendar

Appointments had fallen to about one a day, with three zero days in the same month. Everyone had a theory: the ads, the season, the leads. The theories all pointed at things outside the building.

The cause was one sentence inside it. A financial qualification question in the setting script was pushing away qualified buyers right along with the unqualified ones. The question was doing its job so well it was doing damage.

The funnel was not broken. It was obeying one sentence nobody had reread since it was written.

The trade-off was named out loud: keep the question and stay starved but warm, or pull it and let volume through while the targeting got fixed upstream. The question came out. Eight appointments booked the next day. Eight more the day after.

The lesson was never remove your qualification. It was that every line of a script is a filter, and filters need rereading when the numbers move.

Want to work with me?

This is the kind of thing I find and fix every week. Thirty minutes: you talk, I ask questions, and I tell you whether I think there is something here.

If I think there is nothing, I say that, and we are done in fifteen.
